Summary of discussion
-
The feedback consistently highlighted that the lay summary was well written
and provided a clear overview of the research institution, disease area, and
rationale for the study. -
There was clear potential for the work to benefit patients.
-
The research aims, methodology and benefits were very clearly outlined.
-
The panel raised several comments on other aspects of the application
including:-
The panel enquired about future opportunities to explore similar
research in other breast cancer patient populations.-
It was noted that leveraging real-world data (RWD) in future
studies, such as this one, could enable researchers to identify
and explore important characteristics of breast cancer in other
populations, supporting more inclusive and comprehensive
research across diverse patient populations.
-
-
The group discussed further ideas to unveil overall disease burden to
understand patient outcomes (e.g. looking at location of metastases). -
It was discussed that the researchers certainly had the intention
of investigating such areas further and would review this
closely.
